The frustrated protestors have even burned down former Prime Minister Atal Vihari Vajpayee’s photo along with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other leaders of the BJP. Thi act is bound to send out a clear message to the Saffronians- that nothing comes in between Jaati, Maati and Bheti for the Axomiya people.

After the declaration made by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016; the entire state is witnessing a situation of unrest.

It may be mentioned that All Assam Students’ Union and NESO along with support from the AGP, KMSS, Congress and 33 other organisations have called for 12 hours North East bandh in opposition to the Citizenship Bill.
