Noted actress Seema Biswas has joined the list of celebrities who have donated funds for the flood-affected people of Assam. She has joined the likes of Hima Das, filmmaker Rima Das, cricketer Riyan Parag, actor Jatin Bora, among others, who have donated funds for the flood-stricken. Moreover, many celebrities have also made appeals for people to make donates for those affected by the floods.
The 'Bandit Queen' actress has donated Rs. 5 lakhs to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to help victims of the floods in Assam.
It may be mentioned that Bollywood's 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar set the ball rolling after he donated Rs 2 crores to those affected by the floods in Assam.
Seema Biswas is an Indian film and theatre actress from Assam. She shot into prominence with the role of Phoolan Devi in Shekhar Kapur's film 'Bandit Queen', for which she won the National Film Award for Best Actress. She has a reputation for performing strong character roles. Recently, she was seen in the Arjun Kapoor-starrer 'Half Girlfriend' (2017).
In addition to films, Biswas has been a part of many television shows. She has also acted in the Netflix production 'Leila', which has been lauded by critics.
