AGARTALA: The Tripura Police arrested as many as 10 Bangladeshi nationals including women for entering the state without valid documents.
Reportedly, the arrests were made in two separate incidents which occurred on Thursday night and Friday morning
On Thursday night, 4 Bangladeshi Nationals were held from an Assam-bound night bus at Churaibari check post.
Reports suggest that the four boarded a bus from Agartala and cross the borders. However, they were caught when Assam police checked the bus they were boarding.
The four detainees have been identified as Rakesh Sheikh, Ashadul Sheikh, Shana Ullah and Kachuar Hussain, all hailing from Rajshahi city of west-central Bangladesh.
In the second incident, six more Bangladeshi Nationals were nabbed by Police at Assam-Tripura border.
There were four women out the six held, reports said. The gang was arrested from two Badarpur-bound auto-rickshaws. The held have been identified as Fatema Akhtar, Aleya Begum, Safera Begum, Najma Begum, Sohail Gafkar and Abdul Gafkar.
A man has also been identified by police who extended logistics support to them for entering Tripura.
Police interrogation is underway.
