Bare-bodied youths dance to 'Vote for Horensing Bey' song in Karbi Anglong election rally

Diphu, April 13, 2019:

The BJP party in Karbi Anglong is adopting entertaining ways to woo voters ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the Autonomous Council Lok Sabha Constituency.

Now, bare-bodied youths of Karbi Anglong are dancing to the tunes of BJP candidate Horensing Bey’s campaign song ‘Vote for Horensing Bey’.

Footage from a BJP campaign rally at Birsingki has reached InsideNE which shows a group of able-bodied youths performing a choreographed dance routine at a BJP rally in Karbi Anglong to the politically-charged campaign song, with Bey and other BJP leaders looking on.

At the beginning of the video, the nine youths stand in a cyborg-like stance. “Vote for Horensing Bey…vote for BJP day”, go the lyrics, and every single time Bey is mentioned, the youths point at a life-sized cutout of the BJP candidate.

The choreography of the song is…ermm…interesting, to say the least. At one point in the song, the youths even strum imaginary guitars. The song finally ends with ‘Vande Mataram’.

After the song ends, the people present at the rally proceed to raise slogans in favor of BJP leaders such as Amit Shah and Sarbananda Sonowal.

Election gimmicks are nothing new, but this one might have outdone them all and you need to watch the video at least once for the sake of entertainment!

Bey, a former insurgent, will go toe-to-toe with the Congress candidate Biren Sing Engti in the Autonomous Council election to be held on April 11.
