Bath proves deadly as three girls drown in Assam river

Chaygaon, April 22, 2019:

Taking bath in the river proved costly for three girls, including two minors at Chaygaon in Assam's Kamrup (Rural) district today.

The three girls: Rinki Kalita (20), Mausumi Kalita (16) and Priti Kalita (15) went to take a bath in the Kolhi river in South Kamrup. The incident took place when one of the girls slipped while taking the bath and the other two jumped in to rescue her. All three drowned in the river.

The SDRF finally recovered the dead bodies of the three girls. It has been reported that Rinki hails from Milanpur, Mausumi from Bhaipara and Priti from Bhatijiyakur in the area.
