BISWAJIT PEGU OFFICIALLY TAKES CHARGE AS THE NEW DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

Guwahati, 22nd January, 2019:

In a recent major reshuffle of the district administration, Biswajit Pegu, IAS has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro. Biswajit Pegu has officially taken charge as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kamrup (Metro) on Tuesday. A 2008 batch IAS, he was previously serving as the D.C of Nagaon.

Pegu was officially  handed over the charge on 9 January 2019 after the Assam government made major changes in its state bureaucracy with the issue of an order for transfer and posting of 38 bureaucrats in the state.

He replaces Virendra Mittal, the ex DC of Kamrup (Metro) who has now been appointed as Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home and Political Department.
