The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been alleged of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in the lead up to the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the state.
In Makum of Tinsukia district, the locals seized tractors from a truck owner who intended to distribute those to the public at night and handed over the 20 tractors to Makum Police.
The incident took place in front of the state BJP General Secretary Pulak Gohain’s residence and it is being alleged by locals that the BJP party is distributing tractors to influence the election which is a direct violation of the Model Code of Conduct which came into effect after the announcement of the elections.
