GUWAHATI: Taking a dig at the opposition parties, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief JP Nadda reiterated that the members of Congress and Badruddin Ajmal led AIUDF parties are all 'political tourists'.
The BJP chief made this remark while addressing the Assam Pradesh Executive meeting on Tuesday via video conferencing.
He further said that these 'political tourists' can be seen only during the election time. "Once the elections are over, they are no where to be seen", he added.

"They came as political tourists, now that they have been defeated in the state, they have nothing to do with the people of Assam. They just packed their bags and left", he said.
He accused that the party of trying to defame yoga and the iconic Assam tea in their controversial 'tool kit'.
He further went on to say that that during the previous 15 years, Congress divided the society with the seeds of communalism and added that the corruption, during the governance of Congress, reached to such heights that it was like "no mission, but full commission".
"The second phase of COVID is here, where are the political tourists. All parties have gone into quarantine some are in solation. Some even reached the ICU", he questioned.
Speaking further, the BJP Chief lauded the efforts of the BJP party in combating the second wave of COVID-19. He highlighted how Himanta Biswa Sarma went in person to address the issues.
He even urged Bhabesh Kalita the newly appointed BJP Chief of the state, to voice out against the corruption of the Congress party.
During his address, Nadda said that during the last 5 years, Assam has developed to a great extent under the governance of Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma. He also mentioned about contributions of Laxminath Bezbaruah, Bhupen Hazarika and Gopinath Bordoloi.
