“BJP HAS FETED BHUPEN HAZARIKA WITH WORLDWIDE FAME”: AMIT SHAH

Amit Shah’s claim over BJP according worldwide fame to Bhupen Hazarika has only derogated the stature of the legend.

The 3rd NEDA conclave saw many developments and political bindings. However the statement made by the BJP National President jolted everyone to the last drop.  Shah claimed that only through the construction of the Dhola Sadiya bridge better known as the Bhupen Hazarika Setu, the legend has gained worldwide popularity as and when one Google's the name of the bridge, one gets acquainted with the musical maestro.

However it is pity embrassing of how the BJP National President missed out some of the pivotal facts of the ‘ Bard of the Brahmaputra’

The genius of the multifaceted icon needs no introduction. He was the true blue cultural philosopher of not only Assam but the entire Nation. On this death on 5th November 2011 more than a million people paid their last respect to this doyen of Indian music creating a world record with highest number of people paying tribute over two days. According to Wikipedia,  more than five Lakh people attended his funeral and 30 lakh people watched it on TV.

Thus  now it is up to the public to decide whether it is the musical legacy of Bhupen Hazarika or the bridge named after him which has owned him million hearts.
