BJP Has Failed on its "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas" Promise, Says Debabrata SaikiaSabka

Guwahati, February 10, 2020:

Assam leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has failed on its “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” promise. He also alleged that it only worked for their own development.

Saikia, while speaking with Inside Northeast, said, “The Chief Minister keeps mentioning ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ but the party just says it for the sake of saying. They are not taking care of the people. They should work for the people but instead, they are working politically. This is the proof that they do not believe in the Constitution.”

Saikia was speaking on the lines of the Signature Scheme under which funds are allocated by the government to the constituencies for development work. “Last time, the Signature Scheme issued 10 crores of rupees to each of the 126 constituencies. This time also they have released funds under the Signature Scheme. However, the BJP gave the money to their people in 93 constituencies,” alleged Saikia.

He also informed that five of the Congress MLAs have also received the funds. “Just two-three months are left for completion of this Financial Year yet, they have not released the funds for the rest of the constituencies,” he said. The five constituencies that have received the funds under the Signature Scheme are Chaygaon, Samaguri, Senga, Golaghat and Sarupothar.
