The protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill have shown no signs of slowing down and the anti-Bill crowd has been hounding BJP leaders wherever they go. Lakhimpur

MP of Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency Pradan Baruah and state BJP President Ranjit Kumar Das were the BJP ministers who faced the wrath of protestors today.

Pradan Baruah was confronted by protestors who attached a black flag to his vehicle and shouted slogans denouncing the BJP government.

Similarly, state BJP President Ranjit Kumar Das was also greeted with black flags in National Highway 37 at Numaligarh. Das had gone to Kumargaon to campaign for the upcoming Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council elections.

Despite strong security measures adopted by the local authorities, members of All Assam Students Union (AASU), All Assam Tai Ahom Students’ Union (AATASU)and Chutia Student Organization have flown a black flag to mark their protest against the Bill.

Notably, BJP leaders have been banned from visiting many institutions in the state, such as Gauhati University, unless they withdraw support of the Bill.
