BJP stages state-wide protest against Lakheswar Moran attack

Guwahati, February 1, 2019:

In protest against the attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district president Lakheswar Moran in Tinsukia district against Citizenship amendment Bill 2016, the BJP staged state-wide protests.

The BJP protestors have moved on to the street and demanded immediate action against the attackers.

It may be mentioned that Lakheswar Moran was attacked by a bunch of protestors when he was on his way to attend a meeting organized by Lok Jagran Manch at the Golap Chandra Rabi Chandra Natya Mandir in Tinkunia.

A total of nine attackers that includes All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) workers have been arrested so far in relation to the case and further investigation is on.
