BJP will not Allow a Single Bangladeshi to Come to India, says Himanta Biswa Sarma

At the 'Peace Rally' at Sualkuchi that falls under Himanta Biswa Sarma's Jalukbari Constituency, the BJP leader issued a warning to the anti-CAA brigade, while, at the same time, promising that not a single Bangladeshi will come to India under the saffron party's rule.

"We have no problem with protests. We have no issue with the democratic protests that are being held by the student bodies", Biswa Sarma.

"However, we have to think how are these protests impacting the society", Himanta said, adding that the protests are being carried out on the basis of a "misinformation" campaign.

"It has been alleged that BJP will bring foreigners to Assam. However, everybody who has read the C(A)B knows that after the BJP has come to power, there is no question of a single Bangladeshi coming to India", he said.

Issuing an 'open challenge' to the AASU leadership, the BJP leader thundered, "Come out in the public -- hold discussions. Instead of discussions behind closed doors, come out in the open and show where the C(A)B states that Bangladeshis will be naturalized in India."

Biswa Sarma also fired salvos at the AASU leadership for alleging that people are being bussed in from remote areas to fill venues during BJP rallies. The Minister also drew gasps from the crowd when he announced that he would quit politics if the AASU can actually prove that.

At the same rally, Biswa Sarma also lashed out at Assam singer Zubeen Garg for uttering expletives during anti-CAA protests.

It may be mentioned that the BJP party has received a severe blowback after the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and massive protests erupted across the length and breath of Assam. Now, many student bodies and indigenous organizations are still out on the streets protesting and demanding that the Government roll back the contentious legislation.
