In yet another incident, a boat capsized in Brahmaputra near Monikneshwar temple in North Guwahati on Monday.
Speaking to InsideNe, Upen Mohan, Officer-in-Charge of North Guwahati Police Station, confirmed that no passengers were on board and only the boatman along with the helper were there carrying grass for cattle. However, both of them swam to safety.
It may be mentioned that the state have witnessed a spate of boat mishaps in the recent past. It was only in the month of September when a country boat capsized in river Brahmaputra near North Guwahati where four people were drowned.
