A boat carrying the President of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Ramen Dutta, a senior BJP leader and two sattradhikars (heads of the vaishnavite sattras) has gone missing on the Brahmaputra along the stretch between Nimatighat and Majuli in Jorhat district.
An Inside Northeast source just informed that the boat apparently went missing amid the storm that swept across Assam earlier today, causing huge losses to property.
"It is believed that the boat was blown away by the storm that hit Assam earlier today. The four men were headed to the Majuli river island, but now, they cannot be traced. Huge gusts of wind blew across the Brahmaputra today, and for a long time nothing could be seen properly", the source added.
