BODOLAND STUDENTS UNION STIR COMES TO AN END

The agitation by Bodoland Students Union (BSU) at the Bodoland University in Kokrajhar district of Assam came to an end on Thursday. The indefinite strike was called off after the appointment of acting Vice Chancellor Praveen Kumar Patra as the in-charge. This was stated by the President of Bodoland Students Union (BSU) Swagvamsar Basumatary through an communiqué.

Earlier, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal had invited the Bodoland Students Union (BSU) for talks on Monday on the issue.

It may be mentioned that the BSU has been observing indefinite strike since September 20 at the Bodoland University demanding resignation of present caretaker vice chancellor and appointment of a permanent vice chancellor of the university.
