Bogi Beel Bridge should be named after Chaolung Sukaphaa : AATASU

Guwahati, December 20, 2018:

The All Assam Tai Ahom Students’ Union (AATASU) along with Ahom Sabha and other organizations have staged a protest in Dibrugarh on Thursday demanding the government to name the Bogi Beel Bridge after Chaolung Sukaphaa, the founder of the Ahom Kingdom.

Speaking to InsideNE, AATASU vice-president Basanta Gogoi said, “The demand for naming the bridge in the name of the Ahom king has been going on since long back but there has been no response from the government authorities. If the government do not respond to the people’s demand, it will directly hurt the sentiments of the people of Assam.”
