Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain taking stock of Bogibeel Bridge said that the bridge would be ready for inauguration in December this year.
The Bogibeel Bridge is India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge. Bogibeel bridge will provide a connection between the Rangia-Murkongselek section of the North East Frontier Railway on the north bank of Brahmaputra and Lumding–Dibrugarh section that lies to the south of the Brahmaputra.
Gohain told media that they are awaiting the inauguration date of the bridge from the Prime Minister’s Office.
It may be mentioned that the NF Railway had run a trial Engine and passenger train over the bridge a few days ago.
