BONGAIGAON: Assam Police today arrested a 21-year-old man from Assam's Bongaigaon district and recovered at least four containers of suspected drugs from his possession.
The accused drug peddler has been identified as Rakesh Barman, alias Batpar Bikram who hails from T S Phukan road, Bongaigaon.
Based on a secret information, Bongaigaon Police today conducted an operation around 11 am at ward no-2, Kathal Tala area in Milan Nagar under Bongaigaon Police Station, and apprehended Barman.
Besides the drug containers, Police also seized a mobile phone from his possession.
The total weight of drugs was 3.95 gm, said police.

However, among the four containers, one container was empty, said police.
According to sources, the 21-year-old was intoxicated while he was arrested by the police.
Police have undertaken an investigation on this matter and during the interrogation, Rakesh has also revealed few names who were partners in this crime.
Police have initiated a search operation and assured that the other accused persons will also be arrested soon, said an official.
