United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) candidate for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Constituency, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, while speaking to the media on Thursday, slammed the opposition Bodo People’s Front (BPF) party and claimed that the party has no ideology.
Speaking to InsideNE, Brahma said: “BPF is a completely opportunistic political party. They have said that they will become allies of whichever party comes to power. If the UPPL come to power, the BPF might even join hands with us. Thus, people shall not vote for such an opportunistic party without an ideology.”
On being asked about the UPPL’s preparations ahead of the polls, he said: “The UPPL’s preparations are excellent everywhere. People want change in Kokrajhar. Nobody wants Naba Sarania anymore because he did nothing in five years. People are also angry with the BPF for the Council rule. In the 13 years, they have ruled, they have not provincialized schools, teachers do not have regulars jobs. Moreover, there is a lot of corruption. With all this in mind, the people will not vote for them.”
