Breaking: 12-Year-Old Assam Archer Injured while Practicing for 'Khelo India'

Guwahati, January 9, 2020:

A 12-year-old Archer from Assam’s Dibrugarh has sustained severe injuries after an arrow pierced through her neck during a practice session of the Khelo India Youth Games 2020.

Shivangini Gohain, the young archer, met with the accident while practicing one day ahead of the much-awaited Khelo India Games, scheduled to be held in Guwahati.

According to sources, she has been referred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi for treatment.

It may be mentioned here that the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 is being organised by the sports authorites and the government amid rising agitation against the amended Citizenship Act in Assam. Athletes from across the country have arrived in the city to participate in the Games that are scheduled to begin on Friday.
