Guwahati, March 5, 2020:

An earthquake, reportedly of 4.4 magnitude on the richter scale, has hit several parts on Assam.

The earthquake originated 24 kms east of Dhing in Nagaon around 11:20 pm.

Mild tremors were felt in Guwahati and other other parts of Assam, moments after the PM gave the call to light diyas and candles to show solidarity amid the nationwide lockdown against the COVID-19.

No casualties or damage to property has been reported so far.
