Mantu Dutta travelled a long way from Jorhat to lock up the head office of AGP. The gate was locked down for almost half an hour.
Surprisingly, speaking to media, Dutta said, “I was not mentally stable over the rumours spread in the state that AGP will again move into an alliance with the BJP. We did this to keep alive our party and our Jaati. The party members and the public should not take it in their mind. Actually, AGP is the last option party after BJP and Congress to trust upon.”
On asking for any internal pressure for the change in his statement, Dutta said, “The decision is yet to be made on the alliance and we have come to know there has been no discussion on an alliance with BJP. AGP is the only option otherwise 855 martyrs’ struggle will go in vain so I got emotional and did this. There has been no mental pressure from the party member on me.”
