BREAKING: Assam election 2021 dates likely to be declared today

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to announce the schedule of Assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry today. The poll body, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, is slated to hold a press conference at 4:30 PM today when the announcements are likely to be made.

According to Inside NE sources, the Assam election itinerary will be declared in the evening hours of Friday and the polls are likely to be held in the month of April.

It needs mention here that the Election Commission (EC) held a crucial meeting on Wednesday to finalise the schedule for the ensuing elections in the four states (West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala) and one Union Territory (Puducherry).

The meeting was chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora.
