New Delhi, April 20, 2020:

As many as four youths have escaped from a quarantine centre in Civil Lines area of North Delhi. One is from Bihar, one from UP, one from Assam and the fourth one is a resident of Delhi.

The youths who had been kept in the facility since the last week of March escaped from the facility on April 17, it has been reported.

It is pertinent to mention here that the quarantine centre in Civil Lines area was built in the government school located at Magazine Road.

Meanwhile, the local police have registered a case on a complaint by the quarantine centre and started the investigation.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that the lockdown will continue in Delhi till April 27, when a review meeting will be taken to discuss further course of action.

Kejriwal said, "Delhi has 11 districts and all of them have been declared hotspots. As per the central government, restrictions cannot be relaxed in containment zones."

"Keeping in mind the lives of all Delhi residents, we have that there will be no relaxation in lockdown norms from tomorrow. We will sit in a meeting with all experts again on April 27 and review the situation. If need be, the lockdown norms will be relaxed after that," he added.

At present, Delhi has at least 79 hotspots where strict lockdown guidelines are in place.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra remains the state with the highest number of cases. 283 new cases have beeb reported in Maharashtra, and the total count in the state is now 4,483.
