GUWAHATI: The chief ministers of almost all the north eastern states and BJP bigwigs will accompany North East Democratic Alliance convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma when he will file his nomination from Jalukbari constituency for the Assam assembly elections at Kamrup (Metro) deputy commissioner’s office here tomorrow.
According to sources, the expected crowd of supporters in the rally on his way to file the papers would be about 1.5 lakh.
Perhaps the biggest nomination rally to be taken out in Assam, it will be taken at 12 noon from Sonaram Higher Secondary School ground at Bharalumukh to DC’s office on GNB Road.

The sources said chief ministers of Manipur (N Biren Singh), Arunachal Pradesh (Pema Khandu), Nagaland (Neiphiu Rio), Mizoram (Zoramthanga), Tripura (Biplab Kr Deb) and Assam (Sarbananda Sonowal) will accompany the BJP’s poster boy in the nomination rally. Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma was uncertain due to his state assembly session engagement.
Besides, the entire top brass of the BJP state unit, including president Ranjeet Kr Dass, Chandra Mohan Patowary, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, his deputy in the state council of ministers Pijush Hazarika and MPs Pallab Lochan Das, Dilip Saikia etc will be part of the high profile contingent, the sources added.
The city police has already made elaborate traffic arrangements to accommodate the rally without any major glitch.
