BREAKING | Suspense over Nagaon ticket ends as BJP nominates Rupak Sarmah

Guwahati, March 23, 2019:

After weeks of speculation, Rupak Sarmah has finally been chosen as the BJP candidate who will contest for the Nowgong Lok Sabha Constituency.

It is to be mentioned that the sitting MP, Rajen Gohain, who has been fighting rape accusations in the Court, has decided not to contest the elections this time around and instead focus on clearing his name.

In the wee hours of Saturday, the BJP has also named Pallab Lochan Das to contest the Tezpur Constituency. With the naming of the duo, the BJP has named all ten candidates who will contest the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in Assam to be held in three phases on April 11, 18 and 23.
