Troops of Border Security Force ( BSF ) under Guwahati Frontier seized 940 gm Opium and 16.466 Kg Ganja in a joint operation with police on 03 July 2020, from bordering area of vill-Genduguri, PS-Mathabhanga, District Coochbehar (WB).
Acting on tip off, on 03 July 2020, troops of BSF of 140 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier launched a special joint operation with Police rep of Mathabhanga Police Station in general area of village Genduguri under Police Station-Mathabahnga, Distt -Coochbehar (West Bengal).

As per information, during the joint operation party searched in the houses of Kirin Barman, Pushp Barman, Sushil Barman and Oki Nath Barman of Village – Genduguri, PS-Mathabahnga, Distt -Coochbehar (WB) and seized 940 Gms Opium and 16.466 Kgs Ganja from the house of Kirin Barman.
Seized Opium and Ganja have been handed handed over to Police station – Mathabhanga (West Bengal) for further legal action. Keeping in view the vulnerability of border heightened activities of the smugglers and anti-national elements on the border. BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes.
Earlier, Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force in Assam seized 8007 Nos of Yaba tablets during a joint operation with police from bordering area of village Bishkhawa Part-II, Police Station – Golakganj, Distt –Dhubri (Assam) on 02 July 2020.
Acting on a tip-off, on 02 July 2020, BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Bishkhawa of 110 BN BSF carried out a joint operation with Police of Bishkhawa Police outpost in the general area of village Bishkhawa Part-II, PS Golakganj under Dhubri district, Assam. At 2030 hrs, the suspect was coming along with motorcycle towards border village Bishkhawa Part-II, while the party tried to stop the motorcycle, the suspect was fled away from the spot throwing the consignment. The operation party recovered 8007 nos of Yaba Tablets. Seized items have been handed over to PS-Golakganj for further legal action.
