BSF Seizes 2000 Yaba Tablets at Assam's MankacharMankachar

Mankachar, October 6, 2019:

A special operation was launched on October 5 by a Border Security Forces (BSF) party of Mankachar camp, along with Mankachar police. During the operation, two suspected Yaba tablets smugglers were apprehended, along with 2000 Yaba tablets.

The apprehendees have been identified as Dudu Miah (aged 30), and Ektebar Rahman, (aged 27). They both are residents of Mankachar.

Apart from the banned recreational drugs, a Yamaha vehicle bearing registration number AS 01DJ 3426, was also seized.

The suspected smugglers have been handed over to the Mankachar Police Station for further legal formalities.

It may be mentioned here that Ya ba, formerly known as ya ma, are tablets containing a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine. The illicit use of this drug combination has been widespread, particularly in South East Asian countries.
