Silchar (Assam), September 12, 2018:

The Deputy Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF) ML Garg has urged the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to provide security to farmland owners living near the India-Bangladesh border at Harinagar in Katigara constituency.

The farmland originally belonged to Indian farmers. However, after the birth of Bangladesh 1971, the border was demarcated through that land area. As a result, the Indian farmers could not cultivate their own land as the Bangladeshi miscreants used to physically assault them and burn down the crops.

The BSF DIG has also requested the BGB to guard the farmland.
