Guwahati, March 3, 2019:

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Government has announced an Ex Gratia of Rs. 5 lakh to the kin of Pulwama martyr Maneswar Basumatary during an ‘Adya Shraddha’ ceremony of the martyred hero. BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary handed over the sanction letter to his wife, daughter, and son at their residence at Kalbari in Baksa district.

Hagrama Mohilary has also announced that two statues of the martyr will be built at Kokrajhar and Tamulpur to pay homage to the fallen warrior.

It is to be mentioned that the Assam Government had earlier announced an Ex Gratia of Rs. 20 lakh to the kin of the martyr. Basumatary was martyred when a suicide bomber belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit rammed an explosives-laden SUV into a military convoy bus in which Basumatary was traveling.
