KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) government today provided relief materials to the refugees, who had fled West Bengal amid widespread political violence in the state.
Executive Member (EM) of the BTC, Ranjit Basumatary, today visited the relief camps and provided food and other relief materials, to those taking refuge in the relief camps, at Srirampur along the Assam-Bengal inter-state border.
The BTC government led by Pramod Bodo, condemned West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee and her party workers, for indulging in political violence and alleged ‘genocide’.
Worker and supporters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fled to Assam to escape persecution, after political violence broke out in West Bengal, after the TMC won the state assembly elections.

Over 400 such refugees have been taking shelter at relief camps in Dhubri district of Assam in the aftermath of the incidents of violence.
The Assam government has been providing these refugees with shelter and food.
