Sensational statement on Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 by former executive member of Bodoland Territorial Council and independent candidate from 27 Nagrijuli BTC council constituency Rabindra Biswas, says CAA is a curse for the Hindu-Bengalis. Biswas reiterates Bengalis will lose their voting rights in the 2021 Assam assembly elections.

Rabindra Biswas has claimed that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 is bringing a rift between the Hindu-Bengalis and the Assamese communities living in the state. Biswas also said that the CAA is a curse for the Bengalis and it will not secure the cause of the Bengalis. He further said that though this act was brought to safeguard the persecuted Hindu-Bengalis but for a few foreigner Hindus the whole Hindu-Bengali community is looked by suspicion.

On the National Register of Citizens, Biswas said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government has brought the NRC to safeguard the indigenous people of Assam but because of it, the Bengalis are being made foreigners in their own country. He added that the BJP government is trying to win Bengali votes by falsely saying that they are fighting for the cause of the Bengalis. Biswas claimed that the Hindu-Bengalis will lose their voting rights in the 2021 Assam assembly elections.

Rabindra Biswas appealed to the people of 27 Nagrijuli BTC council constituency to make him politically strong and enable him to fight for the cause of his community.
