In continuance of the series of bizarre events amid the ruckus over the amendment of the Citizenship Act, an All Assam Students' Union (AASU) leader was on Monday reportedly rammed by a vehicle, moments after he had shown black flags to a BJP MLA as a mark of protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (or CAA).
In this incident reported from Teok (under Jorhat district), Jitu Neog, President of the student union, landed in the crosshairs of a local Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader for his opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Neog, along with other activists, was waving black flags at Teok's BJP MLA Renupama Rajkhowa to protest the CAA, when a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number ASO1 DT 7635, driven by the AGP's district General Secretary Bikash Saikia, rammed into the activist, who was grievously injured.
In the meantime, Neog has registered an FIR at the Bhogamukh Police Station, demanding justice. As per the FIR, unknown miscreants had threatened to kill Neog earlier for his staunch opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act.
