Guwahati Commissioner of Police on Thursday said that the investigation on the violence on December 10, 11 & 12 is going on and evidence has been collected. He further informed that security measures have been taken to curb the 'anti-social posts' on social media.

Addressing the media, Commissioner of Police, Munna Prashad Gupta said, “Social media is used by everyone and sometimes the anti-social elements misuse it by posting motivated forms of videos and other that cause breach in peace. So we take action against such illegal activities.”
Regarding arrests that have been made in regards to anti-social posts on social media, the CP added, “Not many have been arrested so far, but counselling has been done for those who have been posting such messages. Only one arrest has been made so far.”

Speaking on the lines of the investigation of the incidents in Guwahati on December 10, 11 & 12, the Commissioner said that further investigation is on. "The police have been collecting the evidence, and accordingly, people have been arrested", he said.
