Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an “incorruptible iron man”, he stated that the country is developing at a rapid pace under his leadership and assured confidence of creating a ‘new India’ by 2022.
Ram Madhav also alleged that there is a conspiracy to spread misinformation about BJP schemes.
Speaking about the grant of ST status to the six agitating communities, he said that the new ST’s will have their own nomenclature and stated that they might be called “new tribes”. He also assured existing STs that their privileges shall not be hampered by inclusion of the new communities.
Talking about the NRC, he stated that while the Northeast is taking big strides in regard to development, they are also completed the promise of NRC.
The BJP man also added the importance of implementation of Assam Accord, clause 6, which he considers the “soul of Assam Accord” and promised that the Clause will include legislative safeguards and will be implemented in “letter and spirit”
Ram Madhav also alleged that the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill are being held to delay the implementation of Clause 6 of the Accord.
The BJP General Secretary admitted that some people are protesting the Bill out of genuine concern, but slammed others who he claims are doing it for political reasons to cause unrest in the state.
Speaking about the partition of Bangladesh, he stated that Assamese people are lucky that they were left with India due to efforts of Gopinath Bordoloi, but asked where will the people go who were left in Bangladesh and are facing persecution due to religion.
“We will ensure that Assam does not lose its identity and all of India will bear the burden”, assured the BJP General Secretary.
He also stated that talks are on to dispel the concerns of BJP allies in the Northeast who are opposed to the Bill, many of whom have threatened to walk out of the alliance. He also implored the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) to reconsider their intention to part with the BJP.
