Cannabis weighing 14 kilo, 253 illicit cough syrup bottles seized in Assam's Dhubri

DHUBRI: A huge amount of contraband cannabis and illicit cough syrup bottles were seized in Assam's Dhubri district today.

The vigilant troops of Border Security Forces drive against Narcotics smuggling and seized 14 kilograms of cannabis and 253 illicit cough syrup bottles in Indo-Bangladesh Border while trying to smuggle the substances to Bangladesh.

Acting on a tip-off, the troops of 192 Battalion of Border Security Force, seized 175 bottles of prohibited cough syrup under the driver seat of E-rickshaw at village Seoti-II, Coochbehar (West Bengal).

Another operation was conducted by the BSF troops and managed to seize 14 kilograms of cannabis and 78 bottles of prohibited cough syrup in the district of Coochbehar (WB) while trying to smuggle to Bangladesh on Indo-Bangladesh Border.

Keeping in view of the vulnerability of border, heightened activities of drug traffickers, and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes including drug trafficking and  illegal trans-border crimes.
