After holding a discussion on the issues prevailing in Assam’s toll gate, Union Road Transport & Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, and Assam Chief Minister Srbananda Sonowal, have announced that the Centre has asked the state government to reopen toll gates in the state.
Addressing the media, CM Sonowal mentioned that he has briefed the Union Minister regarding the inconveniences faced by the people of Assam due to the incomplete four-lane National Highways in the state. He added, “I have personally approached Gadkari to send a senior officer to survey the entire project of roads and bridges. I hope that the efforts of the Centre and the State will improve the connectivity in the state.”
A tweet sent out from Sonowal's Twitter handle read, “CM Shri @sarbanandsonwal called on Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Shri @nitin_gadkari in New Delhi and held discussions on infra & connectivity projects of the state.”
