DHUBRI: Assam Police today arrested a 25-year-old man in Assam's Dhubri district for allegedly raping a minor girl from a religious minority community.
The 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped last month in IG Road, Ward No-14, under Dhubri Sadar Police Station, said police.
The accused has been identified as Shahinur Ali, who works as a seller of broiler chickens.
According to the police, Ali lured the girl with chocolate and performed sexual acts without her consent.

The incident came to light after the girl's parents noticed that she was "uncomfortable."
The girl subsequently told her parents about the incident.
The victim's family filed a police report against the accused at Dhubri Sadar police station, with the case number 973/21.
The accused fled his home, but a team of Dhubri Police successfully tracked him down and apprehended him from his own home after a month.
Police have registered a case against Shahinur Ali, under Section 120 (B) / 366 (A), 344, 354 (C), and 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 4 of RW Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
