All Assam Students' Union (AASU) leader Luronjyoti Gogoi, during a protest against the amendment of the Citizenship Act in Morigaon, lashed out at Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and termed him as the "biggest liar in the history of the state".
Responding to Sonowal's recent assertion that he has done nothing wrong, Gogoi accused the BJP leader of breaking his own principles to keep his seat. Gogoi stated that for 8 years, as the President of the AASU, Sonowal carried the 'Assam Accord' like the 'Gita Puran Bible' on his back.
"But when you sat on the throne, when you were blinded by power...you instantly forgot about the Gita Puran Bible", Gogoi said, adding, "You once said the Accord date of 1971 March 24, is the cut off date, and no foreigner -- neither Hindu nor Muslim -- would be accepted beyond that. You are now saying you want to take the burden of people who have come till 2014!"
"During your AASU years, you said that foreigner is foreigner, and now you are saying that you will accept foreigers!", Lurin thundered at Sonowal.

"You will be the biggest liar of all time. You will be the biggest liar in the history of Assam", Gogoi accused Sonowal, stating that his legacy has been tarnished by his support of the 'CAA'.
Slamming the Chief Minister over his remarks that the AASU holds a personal grudge against him, Gogoi said that Sonowal has become a lackey of PM Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah. "The AASU does not attack anyone personally. You began as a student leader, and now you are tainted. When a tainted son speaks about his mother, the mother gets stricken by grief", Gogoi said.
Gogoi has further alleged that the people have completely boycotted Sonowal, and called upon the people to finish his political career. Lurinjyoti also turned down heavily on the Assam Government of not 'sealing' the porous border between India and Bangladesh, and told the people not to believe the Government when it says it will seal the borders.
