Citizenship Bill to be implemented, announces Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, April 8, 20019:

Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be implementing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The announcement was made during the release of the BJP manifesto 'Sankalp Patra' in New Delhi.

It is to be mentioned that the BJP has been acting adamant over the implementation of controversial Citizenship Bill that has been considered to be a threat by the people of North East India.

It may be mentioned that the Bill lapsed in the Rajya Sabha in February after being passed in the Lok Sabha on January 8.
