Members of Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita Regional Committee on Thursday protested against decades-long Soil erosion in front of Dehing river Maulang Gaon Ledo under 124 No Margherita LAC by holding Placards.
Kanchan Bora General Secretary of AJYCP Tinsukia District Committee said that residents of Maulang Gaon Ledo are reeling under Soil Erosion problem due to Dehing river. According to them, neither Former Congress Government nor present BJP Government has taken a concrete step to control the soil erosion problem.
Kanchan Bora AJYCP has submitted more than hundreds of memorandum with the assist from residents of Maulang Gaon Ledo but than also nothing development took place. Thousands of Bighas of agricultural land has been washed away where residents of Maulang Gaon Ledo has not received single compensation which now the rainy season is near we fear what will happen alleged one resident of Maulang Gaon Ledo. Kanchan Bora said that 124 No Margherita LAC MLA Bhaskar Sharma is busy in getting money through illegal coal syndicate than how residents of Maulang Gaon Ledo can hope that Bhaskar Sharma shall do welfare activities and development work.
