Sharing an article by journalist Gautam Bhatia, Dadlani captioned the post, "Goodbye, ex-CJI Gogoi, and I hope you can stomach the disgraceful and cowardly legacy you have left this august Office".

Soon after, Vishal Dadlani was criticized on Twitter by netizens. One user wrote, "Ohh yes, the legacy that involves solving one of the most complex and long outstanding issues we had !!", while another said, "Shame on you for being such a cry baby.. If you cannot respect our judicial system then at least don't try to make a fool of yourselves by calling names for people who occupy the august office as you rightly said .."
