Taking a day off from controversy, Assam’s ‘Jatiya Nayak’ and Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated an incubator called ‘The Nest’ in presence of Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary at Ambari in Guwahati today. The incubator has been set up by the Assam government with help from IIM Calcutta Innovation Park.
The state incubator will support Startups across multiple sectors with the sole mission of developing Assam into the regional Startup Hub. Hence, most of the facilities available in the nest are free of cost.
‘The Nest’ has facilities such as conference rooms, video conferencing facilities, high speed internet connectivity, plug and play work spaces, design and testing labs, etc.
Through this effort, Sonowal-led government has tried to promote a start-up culture by promoting entrepreneurship in the state. The government has further pledged Rs. 50 lakhs to new start-ups.
