Guwahati, February 22, 2018:

Commuters are facing a tough time in Guwahati as hundreds of city buses have been taken away for the election duty in the neighboring states.

More than 300 city buses have gone on election duty in Nagaland. Passengers have to wait for a long time at the stand.

There are more than 1200 buses registered with the district transport office in Guwahati but not all of them are in a functioning condition.

A top official of the transport department said the problem will continue until the last week of February. Meghalaya and Nagaland will go for voting on February 27.
