DHUBRI: A complaint has been filed against the Officer-in-Charge of Gauripur, Himakshi Nath, and the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Dhubri, Himakshi Borthakur Buragohain alleging abetment to suicide and assault.
One named Pratima Roy of Kurirpar village filed the complaint before the Supperindent of Police (SP) of Dhubri today alleging that her father committed suicide recently due to the brutal assault on her by Gauripur OC, Himakshi Nath which was ordered by the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Dhubri (CJM), Himakshi Borthakur Buragohain.
The written complaint by Roy states that she worked as a domestic help at the residence of Himakshi Borthakur Buragohain.
Later CJM removed her from work after paying all her dues.

After twelve days Himakshi Nath visited Roy's house and asked her to meet in the Police Station saying there was an allegation against her of stealing a silver glass from the residence of CJM.
On August, 19 Roy along with her father Harendra Nath Roy and a local VDP secretary went to the police station in the morning where they had to wait more than an hour then after-hours OC Nath brutally assaulted Pratima Roy leaving marks on her body and commented that people like Roy should die.
Later at about 9 pm, they were released from the Police station and they had to return to their village Kurirpar on foot.
The complaint further stated that the villagers in the next morning found the father of the alleged victim Harendra Nath Roy hanging to the ceiling of a Sanskrit Tol near their village.
Pratima Roy alleged that her father could not bear the allegations of the CJM, Himakshi Borthakur Buragohain, and Gauripur OC, Himakshi Nath's torture and took the extreme step.
Meanwhile, many organisations have supported Roy and have demanded justice in this regard.
The All Koch-Rajbongshi Students' Union (AKRSU) has also filed an FIR at Gauripur Police Station on Sunday regarding the matter.
