Sonowal was all in praise of his governance , citing the milestone they have accomplished over a period of two years. He stated how his government has been efficient to reduce the corruption in the state by establishment of fast-track courts. He also stated about their prudency in reduction of Rhino Poaching proving a comparative data of the erstwhile government.
The Minister on the occasion announced of some commitments too. He stated about the in-hand project of ceiling of Indo-Bangladesh border to be completed by December. When questioned by the reporters about the portion of the work that has been completed, he refrained from providing any specific data. Rather he urged the people to hold on till December. Well, now this gives rise to apprehensions.
However, when asked about the Citizenship amendment bill, the CM to befit the situation took the easy way and urged the people to be patient till the publication of NRC on June 30. He also stated that the government will never do anything breaching the interest of its people. But the neighbouring states of Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh has already stood stern against the Citizenship amendment bill, working for the cause of the people. So it will be interesting to see if the CM of Assam stands up-to his own proclamations. We are still hopeful of 'Ache Din' and 'Parivartan' in actual sense of the word. Thus as the saying goes' actions speak louder than words '
