GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Congress has always supported the illegal immigrants while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government has effectively checked all cross-border infiltration and safeguarded the Assamese people's identity.
“Congress always backed illegal migrants, BJP checked cross-border influx,” CM Sonowal tweeted.
According to report, even as anti-CAA sentiments persist, the BJP has secured all communities and that there have been no ethnic clashes during its rule, while also questioning the Congress' commitment to safeguarding local identity.

Recently posting a video on Twitter Assam Pradesh congress committee said that Congress has expelled more Bangladeshi’s from the country in comparison to the saffron party.
It has further stated that BJP failed miserably in deporting illegal immigrants form the country.
Furthermore, pointing out many such issues like unemployed youths, minimum wage hike of tea workers to Rs. 365, Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA) protest, flood issues etc, it has urged people to take a look at the video before casting vote for any party.
