The Congress has called “Bharat bandh” on September 10 in protest against hike in prices of petrol and diesel.
The Congress is trying to reach out to other political parties to make them join the nationwide stir. Senior Congress leaders had met in Delhi on Thursday where it was decided that apart from the protest on the issue of Rafale deal, the party will also protest against fuel price hike.
Congress leaders in Assam, led by party in-charge in state Harish Rawat, participated in a foot march in Fancy Bazar on Sunday. They appealed to people to participate in the nationwide protest. Some 450 Congress workers took part in the march.
