Congress candidate Anil Borgohain attacked by alleged supporters of BJP, Ganashakti

Guwahati, April 5, 2019:

In a blood-curdling incident, alleged supporters of Ganashakti and BJP parties attacked a Congress campaign rally at Silapathar under 14 Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency.

Congress candidate Anil Borgohain and several other Congress campaigners have been injured in the incident which took place at about 4.40 pm today at National Highway 515 near Silapathar town.

In protest against the act of violence, Congress supporters have blocked the national highway.

Borgohain has been referred to hospital.
